Evaluation of the Effectiveness of Overheated Dry-Saturated Steam Disinfection in the Control of the Dental Chair Contamination by Bioluminescence Analysis: A Pilot In Vitro Study

This study aimed to evaluate, through Adenosine triphosphate (ATP) bioluminescence analysis, the effectiveness of an overheated dry-saturated steam device (Polti Sani System) in decreasing superficial microbial contamination on dental chairs’ surfaces after 30 s disinfection (T1) comparison baseline (T0), i.e., at end aerosol-generating procedure (AGDP), and investigate any differences tested surfaces’ T0 relation surface’s type. Three chair (scialytic lamp, control button panel, spit bowl), sized 10 × cm each, were swabbed analyzed before application. The was repeated 20 times for a total 60 before–after evaluations. Non-parametric tests used analyze Relative Light Unit (RLU) values categorical data ATP molecules’ amount detected surfaces.
